The Channel Development Manager Depth is a senior field channel marketing role, designed to lead and direct a strategic and execution-based end-to-end marketing focus to drive channel productivity and development and stimulate high performance and sales excellence with our top transactional partners (LARs, Scale Resellers and Top VARs).

CDMs execute channel business planning, strategic alignment, field development, sales initiatives and community models to improve the productivity and sales excellence of our managed partners who sell into top midsized (SMB) and Corporate/EPG customers). The CDM reports into Partner Strategy and Programs (PS&P).

The CDM focuses on the following three key responsibilities:

1. Drive channel business planning, capacity planning, business intelligence tools, strategic alignment between segments and partners, channel policies, programmatic engines (e.g. communications, campaigns, promotions, offers, incentives) and special projects to ensure our channel evolves in the right strategic direction and receives the right investments to pursue common goals to ensure revenue and share growth throughout all geographic regions;

2. Ensure the right channel transformation plans are in place to sustain our market presence and to adapt our business and sales motions to be aligned with market and technology changes in the long run by constantly revisiting our common business issues, customer demands and market trends and designing and executing projects and initiatives in order a clear and consistent business road map is in place as well as the right channel development activities are in place to support such goals;

3. Exceeding Partner Satisfaction through end-to-end marketing excellence and evangelizing the Microsoft Partner Network and self-service resources.

The key traits of a world class CDM Depth include a deep working knowledge of the Microsoft Marketing Platform and Microsoft Partner Ecosystem; excellent interpersonal skills and organization agility; expertise at developing and implementing business plans, channel development strategies and activities that deliver outstanding return on investment; providing channel, sales and marketing leadership across partners, field, and WW team members; and demonstrating expertise in marketing & sales operations to exceed sales plans and correct gaps.
